Welcome to the American Studies Program

Thomas JeffersonThe American studies program interprets American culture from an interdisciplinary point of view that combines critical social science and humanities approaches. The program provides a basis for graduate study in a variety of fields, as well as an excellent background for law, journalism, and other professional careers.

About the American Studies Program

Racism IssuesAmerican studies offers an interdisciplinary major and minor. To count toward the major or minor, all courses must be passed with a grade of C or better.
